The Ready Set presents Cherryland – Live Review

The Ready Set presents Cherryland, The Echo, Los Angeles, CA., May 7, 2024

The Ready Set performed a few months ago at The Hollywood Palladium, opening for Boys Like Girls and playing just a few selections from his very vast career early in the evening. With so many songs to choose from along with a just released, career defining new album, it was very exciting to find out that Jordan Witzigreuter and his much-revered band would be performing a headlining set at The Echo focusing heavily on new material.

Billed as The Ready Set presents Cherryland, the stage was decorated up with colorful flowers and video screens, and the venue was packed to the rafters waiting for the arrival of Jordan and his band. After impressive opening sets from Dreamfone and Night Glitch, it was time for The Ready Set to make their way to the stage, and what an absolutely memorable night it would be for both the massively talented performer and his audience.

Jordan Witzigreuter is such an inspiring performer and surrounded himself with brilliant musicians – all who brought the visions of Cherryland to an ultra-vivid life. It was terrific to hear so many new songs performed, and how each and every audience member were singing along to Jordan’s latest and greatest creations.

Cherryland is jam-packed with intriguing compositions, including the wondrously inspirational Teammate – and the song revibrated throughout the room as Jordan and the audience sang the tender, “I’m your teammate in this terrifying age” together. The playful title track Cherryland was also presented and is yet another Ready Set insta-classic that should be all over the radio airwaves.

Another new song highlight was the wistful Life In Pink from the V1 EP, delivered to spiraling blissful perfection! And for those who wanted to hear the earlier songs, Jordan did not disappoint, presenting rousing renditions of More Than Alive, Love Like Woe, and the dynamic grand finale Give Me Your Hand (Best Song Ever).

In addition to Jordan’s dynamic performance, the amazing Ready Set lineup featured Brett Carpenter from Night Glitch on guitar, Bridget Boltz on bass, and Carter Vaughan on drums. For fans of imaginative pop rock music from the heart, The Ready Set present a wonderland of auditory bliss. And with the arrival of Cherryland, now is the time to discover or rediscover the sonic world of Jordan Witzigreuter!
