girlfriends’ Drops New Single “Garbage”, Igniting Their Pop-Punk Era Ahead of Their Upcoming Album There Goes The Neighborhood Releasing October 24

From Vans Warped Tour to the Road: girlfriends’ Announce Fall 2025 Tour Dates

Southern California pop-punk duo girlfriends return with their new single “Garbage,” out now via Big Noise and distributed through Virgin Music. Fast, loud, and undeniably fun, the track taps into the caffeinated, old school meets post-modern pop-punk energy that has defined girlfriends since their breakout debut in 2020.

Garbage” is a callback to the genre’s golden era of the early 2000s while pushing it into the modern scene. Packed with unfiltered lyrics, explosive energy, and festival-ready choruses, it follows the duo’s July 25th single “West Coast”, a tribute to the duo’s SoCal roots and part of their ongoing work with producer John Feldmann (blink-182, Yungblud, Avril Lavigne). Travis Mills (vocals, guitar) and Nick Gross (drums, also of Goldfinger) double down on crafting unapologetically bold, hook-driven songs that fuse nostalgia with urgency.

There Goes The Neighborhood is girlfriends’ most ambitious and impactful release to date, a full-throttle pop-punk record that feels equal parts nostalgic and forward-looking. Across its 15 tracks, Travis Mills and Nick Gross deliver a whirlwind of singles that capture the chaos and resilience of modern life. With longtime collaborator John Feldmann at the helm, girlfriends sharpen their chemistry into a sound that feels both timeless and necessary, an electrifying reminder that pop-punk is not only alive but thriving. Look out for the album being released on October 24, 2025.

Following a breakout year marked by viral success, earning millions of streams and fueling social momentum, the band is now pulling in 100M+ global streams to date, 140,000 following across socials (65.7K on IG, 11K on TikTok), ~248K monthly Spotify listeners, and over 55.1K subscribers on YouTube. These benchmarks have propelled the band onto major stages and high-profile performances.

Now, with an album on the horizon, the band is gearing up for a massive year ahead. After spending 2023-2024 on an arena tour with Avril Lavigne and a standout performance at the DC and Long Beach stop of the revived Vans Warped Tour, the duo is now setting their sights on a fall tour. With new music ready for release and festival-ready singles like “Garbage,” girlfriends are primed to deliver their explosive live show to fans nationwide, making this their most significant chapter yet.

About girlfriends

Born out of a deep-seated desire for a creative vehicle to process recent emotional turbulence in his life, Travis Mills teamed up with drummer Nick Gross (Goldfinger) to create girlfriends, a band that has taken the caffeinated pop-punk style that first inspired them and made it uniquely their own. Destined to cross boundaries, the duo has inspired countless massive sing-alongs on stages across the globe, including Slam Dunk Festival and So What Music Festival. After opening for pop-punk legend Avril Lavigne’s Greatest Hits Tour with special guests Simple Plan from 2023-2024, girlfriends returned to the studio to finish their album, set to release October 24. This past summer, they brought their high-energy set to Long Beach’s Vans Warped Tour, connections with fans both new and longtime. Praised by outlets such as The Aquarian, AltPress, and SPIN for their adrenalized hooks, optimistic swagger, and emotional catharsis, girlfriends is old-school yet post-modern, vulnerable yet volatile, and altogether inspiring.
