Carbonwire at The Viper Room – Live Review

Carbonwire, The Viper Room, West Hollywood, CA., August 9, 2025

Highwire Daze has been hanging out at The Viper Room quite a lot lately – and no wonder, because promoter Kelly McGarry truly presents some of the very best local shows here in the Los Angeles area. I had just witnessed the Paul Austin Band earlier on in the day, and now it was time to see another well recommended collective named Carbonwire. Even since their debut show at The Whisky opening for Alesana, Carbonwire has been rocking Los Angeles with their absolutely brilliant amalgamation of modern metal, grunge, and melodic rock.

Carbonwire made their way up the iconic Viper Room stage and launched into the stunning commencement of Shiver – followed by the hard rocking refrains of Another Kind Of Blind. The band proceeded to envelop the venue with a gripping set of auditory artistry, raging hard and heavy with a massive amount of skill, imagination, and intrigue.

Front and center stage is the charismatic front man Matt Vistnes – whether it’s the grungy, thoroughly impassioned vocals or supremely inspired guitar virtuosity, Matt Vistnes delivers the sonic goods tenfold. Kenny Valadez also shreds it into the stratosphere on guitar while bassist Tanner Khan and drummer Seth Hernandez make for an ultra-dynamic rhythm section. A solid lineup of musicians who are ready to rock your entire world and left you craving a whole lot more!

One of the many highlights of the night was when drummer Seth Hernandez presented a very heartfelt tribute to the legendary Ozzy Osborne – and then Carbonwire burst into a rousing cover of Crazy Train. Everyone in the audience was singing along to the classic song, and the moment was vibrantly magical. The band then closed with the engaging Across The Line, leaving an indelible impression on each and every Viper Room attendee.

You could bet this reviewer will be revisiting the thrilling soundscapes of Carbonwire once more! Be sure to check out their just released album Amazing Disgrace as well as their Instagram for upcoming live show listings.
