Inviscera at The Whisky – Live Review
Inviscera – Live at The Whisky A Go Go, West Hollywood, CA – February 6, 2026
It was already shaping up to be a legendary night of thrash metal within the hallowed walls of the Whisky A Go Go, with Coroner and Heathen set to co‑headline the Sunset Strip institution. I had just wrapped up my interview with the mighty Heathen and was heading downstairs, fully prepared to call it a night. But something fierce, vibrant, and absolutely undeniable was erupting from the stage — a sound so intense it stopped me in my tracks.
That sound belonged to Inviscera.
A trio of younger musicians had drawn an impressive early crowd, and from the moment they launched into the dynamic refrains of “26 Buried” — a track currently streaming on Spotify — it was clear they weren’t just filling an opening slot. They were claiming it. Inviscera immediately locked the room into a whirlwind of thrash‑and‑punk‑infused energy, delivering a set that felt both raw and razor‑sharp.

The chemistry within Inviscera is impossible to miss.
- Matthew Craig commands the stage with vocals that cut through the mix and guitar work that veers from tight riffing to full‑throttle shredding.
- Gavin Hood anchors the chaos with a bass tone that’s thick, punishing, and impossible not to feel in your chest.
- Mason Gonzales drives the entire machine with drumming that’s equal parts precision and vengeance, pushing every song to its breaking point.

By the time they closed with the wickedly ironic “Kill All Musicians,” the message was clear: we had just witnessed a new generation of metalheads stepping forward with the confidence and firepower to take on the world. Inviscera didn’t simply warm up the stage; they owned it.
If this performance was any indication, their rise is only beginning. Catch Inviscera back at The Whisky on May 2nd — because if you love metal, punk, or simply the thrill of discovering a band on the cusp of something big, you won’t want to miss what comes next.
