Vigil Of War was unveiling their first ever headlining show at the world famous Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip, and what an absolutely memorable night it was! With terrific support from the likes of Street Lynx, 222, and Dead Girls Corp, the up-and-coming Vigil Of War easily proved why they are one the most compelling bands on the locals Los Angeles music scene today.
The Whisky was near capacity by the time Vigil Of War made it to the stage, and the band delivered their most rock solid performance to date. With a dazzling amalgamation of hard rock and punk core, Alicia Vigil and crew tore down the house and left the throngs wanting a whole lot more!
Charismatic front woman Alicia Vigil unveils a wondrously stunning stage presence, whether singing with a startling sense of urgency or supplying a thunderous low end of bass. Ms. Vigil exudes a magnetic star quality that is wondrously captivating.
Further explorations within the Vigil Of War battlefront, one finds a supremely tight and devastatingly talented brigade of seasoned musicians. Band co-founder Shane Taylor is all over the stage, presenting searing guitar work that sends the entire Vigil Of War experience into the stratosphere. Guitarist London McKuffey (Farewell, My Love) shreds with a mighty vengeance, and along with Shane Taylor, unleashes a dazzling wall of sound. Latest addition to the Vigil Of War army is drummer Chris Wilson, best known for his time spent with Good Charlotte – and now lending his absolutely amazing talents to this dynamic Los Angeles collective!

Performing songs from their well-received Bite The Bullet manifesto produced by Kevin Thrasher of Escape The Fate, Vigil Of War launched a high energy assault to the senses that was absolutely inspiring. The big surprise of the night was when very special guest Nita Strauss, guitarist from the Alice Cooper Band arrived onstage with her very own weapon of choice, and led the crowd into a fierce version of the classic song I’m Eighteen. About to leave on tour with Alice Cooper the very next day, it was great to see Nita Strauss and Alicia Vigil back onstage once again – as they both also share a membership with the local heavy metal outfit We Start Wars.
Closing out the show was a ferocious rendition of Bite The Bullet – a song so massively infectious that you’ll be singing the chorus for weeks after hearing its soaring refrains. Vigil Of War was clearly on top of the world, and their victory lap at The Whisky was nothing short of an all-out triumph. You can bet Vigil Of War will find themselves headlining a club on the Sunset Strip once again in no time at all!
