young friend at Bardot Hollwood – Live Review

young friend, LA School Night at Bardot Hollywood, Hollywood, CA., December 6, 2022

Nettwerk Records has always been at the forefront of delivering cutting edge independent music, back in the 90’s with their adventurous electronica catalog when Highwire Daze began publishing – and now with a whole new generation of bands and singer / songwriters looking to leave an indelible impression on the world at large. One of Nettwerk’s recent signings is 22-year-old Vancouver native Drew Tarves, also known as young friend.

Making his Tinseltown debut at the opulent Bardo Hollywood as part of their trendsetting LA School Night program, young friend presented his outstanding brand of intimate indie pop rock, delivering an absolutely impressive performance on an otherwise chilled out December night. With an easy-going charisma and vibrantly memorable songs, young friend captivated the audience with a stunning set. Exuding a massive amount of star appeal along with brilliantly relatable lyrics, young friend surely gained a whole lot of new fans here in the Southland.

Those who missed seeing young friend the first time around now have a chance to check into what Drew Tarves has to offer – and those who were at the Bardot debut will definitely want to revisit the magic moment yet again. young friend will return to Southern California on The Scaredy Cat Tour, performing at The Moroccan Lounge deep in the heart of Los Angeles on February 17th. Expect young friend to play songs from his upcoming Scaredy Cat EP, which will be available on Nettwerk Records via February 24th. Do what you can to check out this artist on the rise at an intimate venue, because judging by his tremendously effective live show, young friend will be selling out the bigger venues in no time at all.
