Kutie at Universal Bar & Grill – Live Review
Kutie, Universal Bar & Grill, Universal City, CA., May 26, 2024
Entertainment Photography Plus always books such amazing shows at the Universal Bar & Grill, presenting the very best in local talent from Southern California and beyond. It was a hazy Memorial Day weekend, and visiting from the wilds of Fresno was the one and only Kutie. A young band fronted by a massively talented sister and brother duo, Kutie is highly recommended for fans or acts such as Paramore, Hole, and Pat Benatar. Kicking off the entire night at the 6PM breakfast hour, Kutie instantly gained the attention of all of the early arrivals with a powerhouse set of tunes.
Amongst the selections performed were Kutie’s recently released debut single The Exit, sounding absolutely stunning within a live setting. And I have to say the Paramore covers of Pressure and Misery Business were vibrantly amazing, with lead vocalist Ellie Gonzales delivering the songs with a ton of passion and intensity. Ellie actually sang Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar at the soundcheck, and even there, she sounded incredible!
Gavin Gonzalez is an impressive drummer, superbly slamming the beats out with a massive amount of intensity and persuasion. And performing her very first show within the ranks of Kutie is Tzela Yaish, whose imaginative guitar performance was wondrously to behold.
These are the humble beginnings for Kutie, and what an incredible time to join a band on their journey into the world of rock and roll. Stay tuned, because judging by shows this captivating, it will be exciting to see what the future has in store for the very promising Kutie! If you live in Fresno, be sure to catch Kutie opening for The Dollyrots and Go Betty Go at Full Circle Brewery on June 19th!
