My Final Suicidal Writings EP by Stonehaven (Independent Release)

Stonehaven is a “nucore” band based out of Corona, CA destined to explode upon the worldwide music scene in an epic way. Combining influences such as KORN and Linkin Park with a modern take on metalcore and even deathcore, Stonehaven unleashes an exhilarating auditory experience. Their debut EP is absolutely entrancing, containing three dynamic songs that will remain embedding in your memory long after its 10-minute experience reaches its grinding conclusion.

The EP opens with the mesmerizing refrains of The Body, a riveting track about body dysmorphia that is truly one of the most compelling singles this reviewer has heard in a while. “I hate this body,” vocalist Sean screams, and you can feel the anguish and torment found within. What a devastating and thoroughly rewarding three minutes of thought-provoking sonic intrigue!

Pages is up next, which each and every member filling the track with an impassioned sense of urgency and conviction. An absolutely incredible song that liberates the senses with its grim yet ultimately cathartic reveries. And then the EP ends way too soon with the dark yet pulsating deathcore meanderings of the My Final Suicidal Writings title cut transporting the listener with its brutally honest lyrics and staggering auditory soundscapes.

The Stonehaven lineup slams into a fury and intensity that is exciting to witness, featuring the participation of Sean on vocals, Bradley on guitar, Devon on guitar, Phil on bass, and Joey on drums. My Final Suicidal Writings is a thrilling commencement from a new band we will be hearing a lot more about in the months ahead!  Looking forward to seeing this band live!
