From Out Of The Skies by Bulletboys (Frontiers Music Srl)

The Bulletboys has never neatly fit into the hair metal genre – beyond their Smooth Up On Ya / Hard As A Rock anthems, there has always been a whole lot more going on within the hearts and minds of this compelling outfit. First and foremost is vocalist Marq Torien, a massively talented front man, always delivering a song in nothing short of an epic way. Upon further explorations within their vast catalog of albums – many recorded long after hair metal went out fashion – one finds a band daring to cultivate new forms of expression within their art. Their previous Elefante collection presented the Bulletboys in a brave new renaissance, with songs that were both blistering and empowering. And now with the just unleashed From Out Of The Skies on Frontiers Records, the Bulletboys leap into the stratosphere – and the results are nothing short of mesmerizing.

The dazzling journey into the modern days Bulletboys commences with the pulse racing refrains of Apocolypto – a stunning launch into an intriguing auditory adventure! D-Evil then slams into your senses full speed ahead, featuring a guest appearance by none other than Jesse Hughes from the almighty Eagles of Death Metal. The title cut From Out Of The Skies ragesall across the galaxy with its triumphant lyrical sentiments and spiraling melodies setting the imagination in flight. Hi-Fi Drive By is a rapturous psychedelic tapestry urging you “to take another dose of reality” in the midst of its sweeping soundscapes. “Thought I was your champ in the world, now I’m your knight in dirty armor without you girl,” muses Marq Torien on the gorgeously wistful Losing End Again, closing out the first half of the From Out Of The Skies manifesto.

What Cha Don’t explodes into your face with a diabolic ferocity as the Bulletboys seriously want to rock your damn world! P.R.A.B. fearlessly meshes the rock with the funk, and the results are wondrously spectacular – this cut will make you want to “get your booty out on the dance floor.” Then it’s time for a Sucker Punch right to the cranium, once again demonstrating just how dynamic and ambitious the Bulletboys can be. Prepare for a tug at the tear ducts with Switchblade Butterfly as Torien sings “I can see those cotton candy castles in the sky, where we will all go in time” with a beautiful acoustic guitar accompaniment. And then grand finale Once Upon A Time concludes From Out Of The Skies with a glorious amount of passion and reflection. “This is the moment of my life. no second chances no goodbyes, I feel alive!” Torien conveys, leaving an indelible impression as the disc spins to its sparkling conclusion.

From Out Of The Skies features each and every member of the Bulletboys at the very height of their creative energies, including the participation of Marq Torien on vocals and lead guitar, Nick Rozz on guitar, Chad MacDonald on bass, and Joaquin Revuelta on drums. One of the most fully realized and inspiring albums of the year, From Out Of The Skies is an exhilarating masterwork that music fans will want to revisit time and again! It will be exciting to hear these liberating new songs in a live setting!
