Lovely World at The Viper Room – Live Review

Lovely World at The Viper Room – Live Review

Lovely World, The Viper Room, West Hollywood, CA., January 7, 2020

The very first show of the New Year I would cover for Highwire Daze would be Lovely World at the notorious Viper Room on the Sunset Strip.  An up-and-coming rock and roll collective from  Spartanburg, South Carolina managed by Vicky Hamilton (Guns N’ Roses), Lovely World is primed and ready to take the entire planet by storm – especially if their tremendously solid show at The Viper Room was indicative of greater glories ahead.   An early showcase performance for fans and industry types in the Los Angeles area, Lovely World even won over the most difficult of critic with a dynamic stage presence and the superbly memorable songs to back it all up.

Opening with their soon to be released single Edge Of Time (February 14th – just in time for Valentine’s Day), Lovely World instantly captivated The Viper Room attendees.  The band performed five songs in all, definitely making the most of time spent within the hallowed walls of the iconic Sunset Strip club.  With the witty banter in between the hard rocking songs, Lovely World surely won over a good number of new fans with tunes such as Cigarette, Bones, Don’t Lay Me Down, and Compromise.  Definitely a kickass way to spend an early Tuesday night in the wilds of Hollywood-land, discovering a brand new band that you know is well on their way to the big leagues.

The lineup found in Lovely World presents a massive amount of talent and charisma.  Landon Rojas on lead vocals and guitar is the classic rock and roll front man, his easy going nature, cool stage banter and soaring vocals bringing the audience straight into the heart of the matter.  Cameron Smith absolutely impresses on guitar, who along with Landon, create an exhilarating wall of auditory intrigue.  And bringing it all home with a dazzling sonic precision was the mighty rhythm section consisting of Michael Gilbert on bass and Cade Rojas on drums.

Expect to hear a whole lot more from Lovely World in 2020 and beyond.  Lovely World will have an interview in the next issue of Highwire Daze, out March 20th, so stay tuned for this and other news on the amazing new band on the rise.
