Tell me a little about yourself and your music.
Hi, my name is Nadia Kodes – I’m a singer, songwriter, pianist. I create rock music on piano – so piano-based, gothic, melancholy rock about life and death. Songs to inspire.

What are you looking forward to the most about The NAMM Show?
This is my first NAMM, so I have zero expectations – and I think this is super cool! I just try to enjoy the moment and have fun. My goal is just to make some new friends and to play a few pianos.

Tell me about the album you just released.
So, the album is called Pitch Dark, Red Light and it’s about – I believe that we can find out light through the darkness. We need to embrace our dark side in order to come to the light. So my album is seven songs, and it’s built from the darkest songs to the most uplifting songs. It’s a journey from Never Lost Again to Don’t Be Afraid – which is by the way my latest single. Check out the video – it came out three days ago.

Let’s talk about Don’t Be Afraid and the inspiration behind it.
It’s called Don’t Be Afraid and it’s a collaboration with Croatian musician Denis Pauna‬ – and he’s pretty well known on YouTube. He’s multi-talented. He produced the track – and he shot his part of the video in Romania, and I did my part in Florida. The song is like a mantra – I wrote it to help myself. So, whenever I feel afraid, I start listening to the song. Basically, it’s like convincing yourself – Don’t Be Afraid, it’s going to be alright.

For people who are seeing these pictures in the interview, who are you wearing today and tell me about it.
So, I’m wearing Sherri Lu’s pants – it’s Riot Stitch Rock Wear. Check out this brand. I think it’s the future or rock and roll. I think she’s a one-of-a-kind designer – and by the way, she’s at NAMM, so you can go and check her booth out. Also on Saturday, she will have the first Metal Catwalk. I love her pants, and I hope to buy more.

What’s up next for you in the future?
Next I’m going to release one more single from the album, which is going to be Dark Fantasy. I’m going to shoot a video. And after that, I will release a completely brand new single, which is called Breaking The Code. So, I’ll just continue promoting the album and my new single.
