Bittersweethearts at Ultimate Jam Night, The Whisky, West Hollywood, CA, February 14, 2023

Whether you were out with a loved one or spending the evening celebrating Single’s Awareness Day (aka SAD), there was no better to spend Valentine’s Day than at the Whisky A Go-Go on the Sunset Strip – especially when it’s Ultimate Jam Night and you have Bittersweethearts opening the evening.

One of the most intriguing local bands on the Los Angeles music scene today, Bittersweethearts presents a stunning set of indie rock. From the opening refrains of Amber and throughout their entire show, Bittersweethearts clearly enraptured the early arrivals with their sweeping melodies and vibrant live performance.

Zoe Infante is a tremendously charismatic performer, drawing the audience in with her gorgeous voice and magical stage presence. There is a timelessness that surrounds Zoe’s absolutely breathtaking vocals. Alexis Angel weaves his own sense of imagination and dazzling talent on keys and guitar. Also, on guitar is Alyssa Robertson, coloring in the songs with skill and pizazz. Zach Andrews on bass and Daniel Jun on drums deliver a powerhouse rhythm section, sending the songs into sweet sonic overdrive.

One of the many highlights of the set was the debut of a brand new tune entitled Empty – cowritten by Jacob Bunton of Adler and Lynam – and Jacob was in attendance to see their wondrous creation envelope the hallowed walls of the Whisky for the very first time. A cover of the Simon & Garfunkel classic Mrs. Robinson was also unveiled, given a refreshing update by the Bittersweethearts brigade.

Closing the set with their rapturous single Polly Plastic, it was crystal clear that Bittersweethearts made a quite a few new fans on a Valentine’s Day at the legendary Sunset Strip venue.
